Dragon Mart

Dragon Mart is a prominent shopping mall located in Dubai International City, a suburb of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is recognized as the largest Chinese retail trading hub outside mainland China and features a unique dragon-shaped design that stretches over 1.2 kilometers.

The complex consists of two adjacent malls: Dragon Mart 1 and Dragon Mart 2. Dragon Mart 1, opened in 2004, was developed by Nakheel Properties in association with Chinamex and was inspired by Beijing’s Forbidden City, covering an area of approximately 240,000 square meters with parking facilities for 2,000 cars.

This original section primarily serves as a wholesale marketplace for Chinese products, organized into various sections including furniture, textiles, household items, lighting, sports equipment, and garments.

Due to the considerable commercial success of the initial development, Dragon Mart 2 was built adjacent to the original mall and opened in 2016. This newer mall covers about 175,000 square meters and has 4,500 parking spaces. It functions more like a traditional shopping mall with sections dedicated to general merchandise, building materials, home appliances, hardware, and machinery.

Dragon Mart attracts tens of thousands of visitors daily and includes amenities such as a Carrefour hypermarket, a 12-screen cinema, a food court, and a hotel. It serves as a major trading platform that connects the UAE with China, reflecting the strong bilateral trade and cultural ties between the two nations. The mall caters to both wholesale buyers and retail shoppers, offering over 6,000 shops and kiosks and more than 50 restaurants.

It has become a major economic hub and shopping destination in Dubai, known for its wide variety of Chinese goods spanning furniture, electronics, clothing, building materials, and more.
