Mushrif Park, also known as Mushrif National Park, is a large family-oriented public park located in the eastern part of Dubai near the suburb of Al Khawanij, about 16 kilometers from the traditional center of the city.
Established in 1982 by Dubai Municipality, the park was significantly expanded and refurbished in 1989, transforming it into one of Dubai’s oldest and largest green spaces with an area spanning approximately 5.25 square kilometers. The park features extensive natural forest areas, including indigenous Ghaf woodland, and is home to over 70,000 trees, offering a rare green oasis in the desert landscape.
Mushrif Park is well-known for its diverse recreational facilities such as a swimming pool, bicycle tracks, electronic games, football fields, and theater screenings. It also includes specially designated barbecue and picnic areas, making it a popular destination for families and groups. One of the park’s key attractions is the "International Village," a collection of 13 miniature houses that showcase traditional architectural styles from around the world, providing an educational and cultural experience for visitors.
Adventure seekers can enjoy the Aventura Parks adventure course, which features zip lines and high-rope activities among the trees.
The park also has a botanical garden suitable for bird watching with over 100 species of birds, alongside a small zoo area with animals like goats and opportunities for pony and camel rides. Extensive trails, including a notable 10-kilometer hiking trail, cycling paths, and jogging tracks, add to its appeal for fitness enthusiasts.
Mushrif Park is open daily, with entry prices set at around 10 dirhams per car, and it offers a tranquil escape for both locals and tourists seeking relaxation, outdoor leisure, and a connection with nature in Dubai. Its proximity to Dubai International Airport also makes it a favored spot for aircraft spotting.
The area surrounding the park is largely residential with nearby communities such as Al Mizhar, Al Warqa, Mirdif, and Al Khawanij. Mushrif Park remains a testament to Dubai's commitment to creating sustainable and accessible green spaces within the urban environment.
Dubai understands that tourism depends on trust at every level.
