New Indian Model School

New Indian Model School (NIMS), Dubai, was established in 1980 by Al Haj Dr. M.K. Kamaluddin with the vision of providing affordable, modern education primarily for the Indian community in Dubai. The school was officially inaugurated on May 1, 1980, by H.E. Rashid Abdulla Thaha, then Deputy Minister of Education, in the presence of notable dignitaries including C.H. Mohammed Koya, the then Chief Minister of Kerala, and Muthu Venkataramanan, the Consul General of India.

Starting with just 35 students, the school has grown substantially over the decades and now serves the educational needs of approximately 7,000 students across Kindergarten to Grade 12 in its main campus located in Al Garhoud, Dubai, with additional branches in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain.

NIMS offers multiple curricula including the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Kerala State Board curriculum, known particularly for producing outstanding results in the Kerala SSLC and Higher Secondary examinations, with a history of high pass rates and distinction marks among its students.

The school follows a Montessori-based curriculum for early years and integrates a variety of scholastic and co-scholastic activities to promote physical fitness, mental alertness, and personal development. It provides modern facilities like well-equipped science laboratories, multiple computer labs, a multimedia room with smartboards, a library rich in reading materials, and extensive sports facilities including courts for basketball, volleyball, and cricket fields.

The school also emphasizes moral and religious education, offering Islamic studies and Quran memorization programs as per UAE Ministry of Education guidelines.

Recognized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), New Indian Model School has been rated "Acceptable" overall with several good and outstanding features, especially noted for the students' personal and social development.
