Rashid School for Boys, located in the Nad Al Sheba community of Dubai, was established in 1986 under the guidance of the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai at the time.
The school was founded with the vision of providing high-quality education exclusively to Emirati boys, aiming to nurture future leaders of Dubai and the UAE. It follows the British National Curriculum from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 13, incorporating Arabic language, Islamic studies, and UAE social studies to ensure students develop a deep understanding and appreciation of their heritage.
Admission to the school is restricted to UAE nationals, with entry considered through recommendations from senior members of Dubai's ruling family.
Over the years, Rashid School for Boys has developed into a prestigious government institution known for academic excellence and character building. Its campus covers about 200,000 square meters and is designed with traditional Arabian architectural elements such as arches, domes, and courtyards, providing a culturally rich environment for learning.
Facilities include science and computer labs, a well-equipped library, music and art rooms, a swimming pool, sports hall, gym, squash courts, and extensive sports fields. The school emphasizes values such as leadership, learning, respect, honesty, and courtesy, with a discipline framework aimed at fostering responsible future citizens and leaders.
Rashid School offers inclusive education programs to support students with special educational needs, ensuring access to broad and quality learning opportunities.
In 2012, Rashid School for Boys and Latifa School for Girls were brought under a unified administration known as Rashid and Latifa Schools (RLS) to streamline governance while maintaining single-gender education on separate campuses. The school boasts a notable alumni network that includes prominent public figures and leaders in the UAE.
Rashid School continues to evolve with a strong focus on maintaining its legacy of excellence, preparing students for success locally and internationally in accordance with Dubai's educational vision and cultural values.
Travel is the best way to learn empathy.
