The Galleria

The Galleria, located on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, is a premier luxury shopping destination that has become a cornerstone of the city's retail and lifestyle scene since its opening in 2013.

Developed as part of the larger Al Maryah Central mixed-use complex, the mall spans 2.3 million square feet of gross leasable space and houses approximately 400 retail outlets, making it one of the most comprehensive shopping centers in the UAE.

The Galleria was conceived as a transformative project by Mubadala Investment Company, aiming to elevate Abu Dhabi’s status as a global business and lifestyle hub, with the island itself rebranded from Sowwah Island to Al Maryah in 2012 to reflect its growing prominence.

The Galleria offers a diverse array of dining experiences, ranging from Michelin-starred restaurants like 99 Sushi to popular international concepts such as Zuma, Coya, and LPM, many of which are situated along a scenic waterfront promenade. The culinary offerings are further enhanced by a rooftop food hall with al fresco cafés, bistros, and fine dining options, providing an open-air ambiance that complements the island’s modern urban design.

Entertainment and leisure facilities at The Galleria include a 21-screen Vox Cinemas, family-oriented attractions like Xtreme Zone and Zero Latency, and the region’s first National Geographic Ultimate Explorer, catering to a broad demographic of residents and tourists.

The mall also features three rooftop parks, an outdoor amphitheater, and hosts cultural events throughout the year, such as Chinese New Year celebrations and a Christmas Winter Wonderland, reinforcing its role as a community and cultural hub. A major expansion in 2019 significantly enhanced its offerings, adding new retail spaces, restaurants, and entertainment options, which helped broaden its appeal beyond luxury shoppers to include families and casual visitors.

The Galleria is fully integrated into the urban fabric of Al Maryah Island, with direct connections to key transport links and proximity to luxury hotels such as the Four Seasons and Rosewood, as well as high-end residential and commercial towers within the Al Maryah Central development.

With over 7,000 parking spaces and a meticulously designed layout across five levels, the mall ensures a seamless and accessible experience for all visitors. Over the past decade, The Galleria has evolved from a luxury retail enclave into a well-rounded lifestyle destination, symbolizing Abu Dhabi’s ambition to create world-class urban environments that blend commerce, culture, and community life.
