Dubai International Airport Introduces New Waiting Lounge for Uber and Careem Users

Dubai, UAE – Dubai International Airport (DXB) has unveiled a dedicated waiting lounge for passengers using Uber and Careem at Terminal 3, offering travelers a more comfortable and organized ride-hailing experience upon arrival. The new facility is part of a collaboration between Uber, Dubai Airports and the Dubai Civility Committee aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and streamlining airport ground transportation.

Located directly at the main Uber and Careem pickup area, the custom-built lounge provides a climate-controlled environment where passengers can relax while waiting for their rides. The facility comes equipped with seating areas, dedicated luggage space, charging stations, workspaces and high-efficiency air purifiers, ensuring comfort for both business and leisure travelers.

The lounge also introduces a dedicated queuing system for UberX and Careem Comfort users. The system utilizes PIN-based dispatch technology to improve vehicle allocation and reduce waiting times, helping passengers move more efficiently from the terminal to their transportation.

According to Dubai Airports and Uber, the initiative is designed to reduce congestion in pickup zones while enhancing the arrival experience for millions of visitors who pass through DXB each year. The lounge is expected to be particularly beneficial during the summer months, providing travelers with a welcome escape from the heat while they wait for their ride.

Saeed AlNazari, Secretary General of the Dubai Civility Committee, said the project reflects Dubai’s commitment to delivering world-class experiences from the moment visitors arrive in the emirate. He noted that Dubai International Airport serves as the first point of contact for millions of travelers and plays a crucial role in shaping their first impressions of the city.

Tala Nsouli, General Manager of Uber UAE, said the company aims to eliminate travel friction and make every step of a passenger’s journey as seamless as possible. She described the new Terminal 3 facility as a modern space where users can relax, recharge devices and enjoy a smoother transition from airport to destination.

Dubai Airports Chief Operating Officer Majed Al Joker added that the initiative demonstrates how collaboration among partners can create a more welcoming and efficient experience beyond the terminal doors, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global aviation hub.

The opening of the lounge marks the first phase of broader efforts to improve airport ground transportation services, with additional passenger-focused enhancements expected in the coming weeks. As DXB continues to rank among the world's busiest international airports, the new facility underscores Dubai’s ongoing focus on innovation, convenience and premium customer service.
