Abu Dhabi University

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is a private, multi-campus university founded in 2003, with its main campus located in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, and satellite campuses in Al Ain, Dubai Knowledge Park, and Al Dhafra region.

The university was initiated through the Charter of Abu Dhabi University in 2000, developed under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. After comprehensive planning and accreditation by the UAE Ministry of Education, ADU officially opened in September 2003 with approximately 1,000 students.

The institution initially offered programs in business and arts and sciences and expanded over time to include engineering in 2007, law in 2016, and a Dubai campus launched in 2017 specifically to cater to working professionals in the UAE’s financial hub.

The Dubai campus, inaugurated in October 2017 by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, occupies a modern facility in Dubai Knowledge Park and provides programs across various disciplines including business, engineering, law, education, and health sciences.

ADU currently enrolls over 8,700 students from more than 70 countries and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate courses through its multiple colleges. The university maintains several prestigious accreditations such as AACSB for its College of Business, ABET for engineering programs, WASC accreditation from the United States, and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) accreditation for architecture.
