Jaipur National University, originally established on October 22, 2007, through an ordinance by the Government of Rajasthan, India, expanded its academic presence to the United Arab Emirates with the establishment of its Ras Al Khaimah campus in 2024.

The university received official permission from India's Ministry of Education to set up this offshore campus in Dubai, UAE, under strict conditions to maintain the standards of education consistent with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other relevant statutory bodies.

This expansion aimed to provide quality Indian higher education in the UAE, facilitating access to JNU’s interdisciplinary programs across business, engineering, computer sciences, health sciences, and other fields for students in the region. The university was instructed to ensure adequate academic and physical infrastructure for the Dubai campus, prevent financial liabilities on the government, and avoid diverting funds generated from its domestic campus in Jaipur.

Furthermore, the university is required to maintain its reputation and uphold the prestige of Indian higher education at the offshore site. The Ras Al Khaimah campus reflects JNU’s commitment to global academic standards and innovation, extending its mission of shaping global careers and fostering academic excellence beyond Indian borders.
