Al Qasimia University

Al Qasimia University is a national university located in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. It was established in 2013 under Royal Decree No. (2) issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who is also the university's founder, president, and chairman.

The university was founded with the vision of creating a distinctive Islamic-Arabic institution of higher education that combines the principles of Islam with openness to the world, fostering academic excellence and research. Al Qasimia University’s campus is notable for its environmentally friendly design and blend of traditional Islamic architecture with modern aesthetics, situated in a prominent location in University City in Sharjah.

Since its establishment, Al Qasimia University has grown to offer a broad range of academic programs in fields such as Islamic studies, Sharia law, Arabic language and literature, education, humanities and social sciences, business administration, and engineering.

The university comprises five main colleges: Arts and Humanities, Communication, Economics and Management, the Holy Quran, and Sharia and Islamic Studies. The College of Arts & Humanities, which started in 2015, emphasizes Arabic language and literature, Islamic history, and their influence on civilization, aiming to prepare graduates who are both knowledgeable and faithful to the Arabic language and culture.

The academic environment supports a diverse student body from many countries, with a strong commitment to tolerance, moderation, and the promotion of Islamic values harmonized with contemporary university standards.

Al Qasimia University offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees with general academic accreditation for its programs. It has a student body that includes thousands of international students, with a student-faculty ratio of about 40:1.

The university provides scholarships and financial aid options, including full scholarships that cover tuition, living expenses, and other fees for eligible students. Admission requirements include meeting academic and language proficiency standards, such as English language tests and EmSAT scores in mathematics and Arabic.
