Aviation Club Tennis Centre

The Aviation Club Tennis Centre, located in Garhoud, Dubai, is a prestigious tennis complex best known for hosting the annual Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, a top-tier ATP World Tour 500 series event.

The tennis center originally opened in 1993 and featured temporary facilities, but in 1996, the Dubai Tennis Stadium was officially inaugurated. Designed by Italian architects Mario and Luigi Donato, the stadium boasts a seating capacity of 5,000 spectators and includes facilities such as a VIP area, royal enclosure, press offices, interview rooms, and broadcast infrastructure.

The center sits within the larger Aviation Club complex, which includes popular social venues like the Irish Village and Century Village.

Over the years, the venue has gained a reputation as one of the best tennis stadiums globally, with many top players valuing the tournament’s environment and facilities. The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships feature both ATP men's and WTA women's events, attracting elite players from around the world since the women’s tournament debuted in 2001.

The stadium is not only a center for tennis competitions but also hosts concerts and cultural events, with famous international artists performing there. The Tennis Centre has been recognized multiple times as one of the best venues on the ATP World Tour, owing to its high-quality playing conditions, excellent spectator experience, and vibrant surroundings.

Besides tennis, the Aviation Club offers various leisure and fitness amenities, making it a comprehensive sports and social hub in Dubai. Plans have been discussed to potentially increase the stadium's seating capacity to meet growing demand, although space constraints in its city-center location present challenges.
