Birla Institute of Technology and Science

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani – Dubai Campus (BITS Pilani Dubai) is a private technical and research university established in 2000 as the international campus of BITS Pilani, India.

It is the first Indian university to have an overseas campus and is located in Dubai International Academic City. BITS Pilani Dubai offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs primarily in engineering, science, and business management, fostering a rigorous academic environment with an emphasis on practical learning and industry relevance.

The campus attracts students from across the UAE, GCC countries, India, Africa, and the Far East, providing facilities such as furnished student hostels, gymnasium, supermarket, and clinic.

The parent institution, BITS Pilani, was established in 1964 and is recognized as an “Institution of Eminence” by the Indian Ministry of Education. It originated from the Birla Education Trust founded in 1929 and became a deemed university under the University Grants Commission in 1964.

Known for its innovative Practice School program integrating internships into the academic curriculum, BITS Pilani has expanded to multiple campuses in Goa, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, alongside its Dubai campus. The Dubai campus has grown steadily since its inception, maintaining high standards of education and global recognition for its contributions to engineering and technology education in the region.

The Dubai campus emphasizes a comprehensive academic experience supported by modern infrastructure, including indoor and outdoor sports facilities for holistic student development.

It is approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, and is permitted by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Government of Dubai.
