Dr. Ali Al Numairy

Dr. Ali Al Numairy (1956–2013) was a pioneering Emirati plastic surgeon known as the first Emirati specialist in the field of plastic and cosmetic surgery. Born in 1956, his passion for surgery began early in life, sparked by an experience with penicillin injections during a tooth extraction at the age of 14.

He graduated from Cairo University in 1979 and further honed his medical expertise in France from 1980 to 1984, specializing in maxillofacial reconstruction, microsurgery, transplantation, and aesthetic surgery.

Upon returning to the UAE, he worked in the Department of Health & Medical Services in Dubai, eventually becoming the Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Head of the Plastic Surgery and Burn Injuries Unit. He was also a founding member and president of the Plastic Surgery Society of the Emirates Medical Association.

Dr. Al Numairy held several influential roles in the medical community, including Vice President of the Arab Medical Union, World Vice President of the International College of Surgeons (ICS), President of the UAE Section of ICS, and Secretary General of the GCC Association of Plastic Surgeons.

He also contributed academically as a visiting professor of surgery at Sharjah University and was involved in multiple health and medical committees across the UAE. In 2008, he established the Al Numairy Medical Center in Dubai, further advancing specialized medical care.

Tragically, he passed away in March 2013 due to a fatal motorcycle accident. His death was mourned across the UAE, with condolences extended by leaders including the ruler of Dubai.
