DSC Multi-Purpose Stadium

The DSC Multi-Purpose Stadium, commonly known as Dubai International Cricket Stadium, is a prominent sports venue located within Dubai Sports City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Officially opened in 2009, the stadium primarily hosts cricket matches and is one of the three main cricket stadiums in the UAE, alongside Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. It has a seating capacity of 25,000, which can be expanded to accommodate up to 30,000 spectators.

The stadium was designed by Canadian architect Awsam Matloob and features a distinctive circular roof structure with an innovative “Ring of Fire” lighting system made up of 350 floodlights embedded into the roof, allowing for shadowless night games.

Since its inauguration, the DSC Multi-Purpose Stadium has hosted numerous significant events, including international cricket series, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the COVID-19 pandemic, and important ICC tournaments such as the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup.

The stadium is known for hosting high-profile matches involving teams like Pakistan and Australia and has become a neutral venue for Pakistan’s international fixtures due to security concerns in their home country. The pitch and overall facilities have continually been upgraded to meet international standards, and the stadium has witnessed several record-breaking performances over the years.

Beyond cricket, the venue also supports concerts and other large-scale events, establishing itself as a major multi-purpose sports and entertainment arena within Dubai Sports City.

From the calm of the desert to the rush of the city, Dubai offers two worlds in one.
