Dubai Autodrome is a world-class motorsports circuit located in the MotorCity district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Opened in October 2004, it was the UAE's first fully integrated multipurpose motorsport and entertainment facility, designed by Clive Bowen of Apex Circuit Design in collaboration with the architectural firm Populous.
The circuit spans 5.39 kilometers (3.35 miles) and features six different track configurations, allowing for various racing formats and simultaneous multiple events. Recognized for incorporating advanced safety features such as wide asphalt run-off areas and a sophisticated digital surveillance system, Dubai Autodrome quickly became a prominent racing venue in the Middle East.
The Autodrome hosted its inaugural event with the final round of the LG Super Racing Weekend in 2004, which included the FIA GT Championship, the European Touring Car Championship, and the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup.
It later hosted the A1 Grand Prix in 2005 and served as the venue for the Dubai 24 Hour endurance race from 2006, an open competition for GT, sports car, and touring car teams. The venue holds an FIA Grade 1 license, meeting all requirements to potentially host a Formula One race, although Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina Circuit currently holds F1 events in the UAE.
Beyond professional racing, Dubai Autodrome is a versatile hub offering karting facilities at its adjacent Kartdrome, driving experiences, race schools, and corporate hospitality suites. It boasts amenities such as retail stores, themed restaurants, and spectator grandstands with a capacity for 7,000 people.
The facility’s location within Dubai’s MotorCity development, near key highways and urban centers, enhances its accessibility. Over the years, Dubai Autodrome has established itself as a central venue for motorsport in the region, attracting a mixture of professional competitions, amateur enthusiasts, and motorsport fans alike.
In Dubai, ambition is part of everyday life.
