Dubai Cricket Council Ground No 1

The Dubai Cricket Council Ground No 1 is a cricket venue located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It has been an important site for cricket events in the region, having hosted List A matches during the Champions Trophy qualifying rounds in 2004/05, which saw the United States win.

Moreover, the ground hosted games for the 2000 Asian Cricket Council Trophy. The venue played a significant role in the development and promotion of cricket in the UAE during the 1990s and early 2000s before it was bulldozed in 2006 to make way for a building project.

Over its active years, the ground was used for various domestic and international matches, contributing to the growth of cricket in Dubai and the surrounding areas. Although no longer in use, the Dubai Cricket Council Ground No 1 remains a noted part of Dubai’s cricketing history, representing the early infrastructure that supported the sport in the region before the rise of more modern stadiums like the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

To awaken alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world.
