Fahad Afdhal Alhashmi, born on July 31, 1982, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is a former Emirati cricketer known for his role as a right-arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman.
He holds the distinction of being one of the first UAE-born players to represent the national cricket team on the international stage. He began his international career in 2005, playing in the ICC Intercontinental Cup semi-final against Ireland.
Over the ensuing years, he participated in several key matches for the UAE, including appearances in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, matches against English county teams such as Essex, Lancashire, and Yorkshire, and various One Day International (ODI) games.
He made his ODI debut in 2008 during the Asia Cup against Bangladesh and continued to represent the UAE until at least 2015, including playing in the 2015 Cricket World Cup where he faced top teams like South Africa. His career is noted for his consistent bowling performances with six wickets in five ODIs, maintaining a bowling average around 33.
