JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Tower 2

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Tower 2 is a prominent skyscraper located in the Business Bay district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and forms one half of the JW Marriott Marquis hotel complex, which was developed by Emirates Airline and designed by Archgroup Consultants.

Completed in 2013, Tower 2 rises to a height of 355.4 meters (1,166 feet) and consists of 82 floors above ground and two basement levels, making it one of the tallest hotel buildings in the world. The architecture draws inspiration from the Arabian date palm tree, reflected in the faceted appearance of the trunk and the design of the balconies, adhering to an Expressionist style that adds a distinctive silhouette to the Dubai skyline.

The building features a reinforced all-concrete structural system, with a central core connected to external shear walls and transfer girders, ensuring stability at great heights and optimizing wind and thermal performance through a carefully planned off-axis orientation and vertical fins that act as shading devices.

Tower 2 hosts 684 guest rooms and 120 suites, with facilities including a 25,000-square-foot health club, a shopping boulevard, 15 food and beverage outlets, a banquet hall with a separate entrance, business centers, conference halls, rooftop bars, swimming pools, and a spa. Designed to maximize panoramic views of Dubai's landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa, Arabian Gulf, and Safa Park, the guest rooms are strategically positioned around the building's perimeter for optimal vistas.

The seven-storey podium at the base houses public amenities, restaurants, retail outlets, and recreational areas, anchoring the towers as a central hub of activity. The project was launched in 2005, began construction in 2006, and quickly gained international acclaim for its complex facade, innovative structural design, and luxury hospitality offerings, earning multiple awards and remaining a world-class destination for travelers and business events in Dubai.
