Dubai Parks and Resorts

Dubai Parks and Resorts is the largest integrated theme park and leisure destination in the Middle East, located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, opposite Palm Jebel Ali.

Announced in 2012 and opened in phases starting in late 2016, the resort spans over 25 million square feet and features three main theme parks: Motiongate Dubai, which showcases Hollywood-inspired attractions from major studios such as DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures, and Lionsgate; Legoland Dubai, the first Legoland park in the region, designed primarily for families with younger children; and Bollywood Parks Dubai, which offered rides and entertainment based on Bollywood film themes though it was permanently closed in 2023.

The complex also includes the Legoland Water Park, Riverland Dubai—a themed retail and dining promenade—and the Polynesian-themed Lapita Hotel, providing a full family resort experience.

Dubai Parks and Resorts was developed by DXB Entertainments PJSC with the goal to become the premier entertainment destination in the region, combining thrilling rides, immersive attractions, and cultural experiences across its parks.

The project involved major international partnerships to bring globally recognized entertainment brands to the Middle East, including agreements with DreamWorks, Lionsgate, and Merlin Entertainments.

Over the years, plans expanded to include Six Flags Dubai, though the project was later canceled. In 2022, the resort announced a partnership with Real Madrid to open the world’s first football-themed park called Real Madrid World, reflecting ongoing efforts to diversify attractions.

The resort continues to evolve, with expansions such as a water park addition planned for Motiongate. Dubai Parks and Resorts represents Dubai’s vision of delivering world-class family entertainment and leisure through innovation, global partnerships, and high standards of service and technology.
