Ski Dubai

Ski Dubai is an indoor ski resort located within the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Opened in November 2005, it was the first indoor ski resort in the Middle East and quickly became one of the region’s most popular and iconic tourist attractions.

The resort spans 22,500 square meters and maintains a temperature range of -1 to 2 degrees Celsius year-round, providing a unique winter sports experience in the heart of a desert city. Ski Dubai features an 85-meter-high indoor mountain with five ski slopes of varying difficulty, including the world’s first indoor black diamond run.

The longest run stretches 400 meters, and the facility is equipped with chairlifts and tow lifts to transport skiers and snowboarders.

Besides skiing and snowboarding, Ski Dubai includes a 3,000-square-meter Snow Park that offers family-friendly activities such as tobogganing, snowball fights, climbing towers, an ice cave, and sled runs. The resort is also home to a small colony of penguins, and visitors can book exclusive penguin encounters to interact with them.

Developed by Majid Al Futtaim Group, the project was a significant engineering achievement, combining advanced snowmaking technology and sophisticated climate control to create a winter environment in the desert. Ski Dubai has won international recognition, including the Thea Outstanding Achievement Award from the Themed Entertainment Association.

It has contributed significantly to Dubai’s tourism sector by offering a distinctive entertainment option that contrasts with the city’s desert climate, attracting millions of visitors annually and inspiring similar indoor ski resorts worldwide.
