The Dubai Frame is a distinctive architectural landmark located in Zabeel Park, Dubai, symbolizing the connection between the city's past, present, and future. Rising to a height of 150.24 meters and spanning 95.53 meters in width, the structure resembles a giant picture frame and consists of two vertical towers connected at the top by a 93-meter horizontal bridge.
Designed by architect Fernando Donis, the Dubai Frame's design draws inspiration from the Expo 2020 Dubai logo and traditional Islamic geometric patterns, blending modernity with heritage. Its exterior is adorned with over 15,000 square meters of gold-colored stainless steel cladding, which reflects sunlight and serves as a nod to Dubai's reputation as the "City of Gold."
The structure offers a unique viewing experience with observation decks and a glass-bottomed sky bridge that provides visitors panoramic views of both old and new Dubai, visually representing the city's transformation from a modest fishing village to a futuristic metropolis.
Inside, the Dubai Frame houses a museum that presents Dubai's history through immersive exhibits and projections, showcasing its cultural heritage and rapid development. The frame's construction began in 2013 and was completed in 2017, involving over 2,000 workers and using innovative materials like reinforced concrete, steel, aluminum, and laminated glass to withstand Dubai's harsh climate while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
Since its inauguration on January 1, 2018, the Dubai Frame has become a prominent tourist attraction and an emblematic symbol of Dubai's ambition, creativity, and cultural pride.
The journey matters more than the destination.
